Join us for a Hanukkah cocktail party with vodkas, latkes, and hand-crafted sushi!
Friday, December 15th
7:30 pm immediately following kabbalat shabbat services at 6:30 pm
We’ll schmooze, drink, eat, admire each other’s “ugly Hanukkah sweaters” and congregant Josh Rothberg will wow us with his sushi-making abilities!
Prizes will be given to the wearers of the ugliest and most festive hanukkah attire!
A little more about Josh: “I was trained in a Japanese Kitchen at a restaurant in Ahwatukee called Sakana. The owner trained me in the Japanese method and since 1997 my knowledge of sushi has fused with other American-style sushi. When I first started in 1997, I coined myself the world’s first and only Japanese trained Jewish sushi chef. Today, I am not the only but I am still the first Japanese trained Jewish sushi chef. On occasions, I work at a sushi bar in North Scottsdale called Big Eye Sushi. I was born and raised in Chicago (Highland Park). Go Cubs Go!”
This is a Temple-members-only event.
Congregants must be 21+ to attend. Unfortunately, no childcare will be provided.
There is no cost to attend, but we do request that you RSVP by Friday, December 8th to [email protected].
