How long have you been members of Temple Emanuel? Since 1990ish?
Why did you decide to join TEOT?
We wanted to belong to a reform congregation in the SE valley along with a growing population of young families
What do you do for a living?
Karen is an Instructional Assistant for ASU Polytechnic Elementary and artisan in spare time
Bob is a Fellow of Technical Staff in the Mission Systems Division at General Dynamics in Scottsdale for over 30 years
What is your favorite holiday (it doesn’t have to be Jewish)?
We like all the Jewish Holidays but on the top of our list is Shabbat, Passover and Sukot
What is your favorite Jewish food?
I would have to say chicken soup with matzo balls for both of us and a close second is briske for me and herring with sour cream for Bob
What is the farthest you’ve traveled?
That would have to be Israel, with Japan second
Do you eat Chinese food on Christmas?
We most certainly do with our Chavurah
How did you meet your spouse or partner?
We met while we were both attending ASU
What are some of your hobbies and interests? Bob and I love to go Kayaking. Bob likes to do wood working Karen likes to grow vegetables, cook and make art of all kinds
Have you binge-watched anything good lately?
Oh for sure: We love anything HBO and PBS concerts and
Frontline On HBO we recently finished The Undoing, We Are Who We Are, I Know This Much Is True, The Vow, and The Great to name a few. Oye!
Do you have a favorite sport and/or sports team?
Not particularly we like to attend the baseball games when in season
Do you have a hidden talent?
Not necessarily hidden. Just what our hobbies are up above
What is your favorite local restaurant?
We have several depending on the type of food we are seeking But sad to say since the pandemic we have neither dined in or have done take out. But our most craved is Blue Adobe grille in Mesa for New Mexican food
Who would play the role of YOU in a Hollywood movie?
Bette Midler for Karen and Bryan Cranston for Bob haha
