During this year’s High Holy Days a small packet of seeds will be distributed.. A special thank you to Neal Brooks, owner of Abby Lee Farms, for donating the seeds. We hope the seeds will add some beauty to our world at this time of new beginnings. Here are some simple directions for planting:
Red bird of paradise (large gray seeds)
Desert plant. Here’s the trick soak seed in coke overnight ( acid in coke will break the endocarp of seed )
Then plant in full sun. Beees love. Drought tolerant.
Stock, column American Beauty, Dahlberg daisy, Gaillardia, (very small seeds)
Great blooming plant this was the flower the Japanese flower growers had acres of on baseline. Bees love them Plant – scatter seed
Corn silver bullet white (seeds look like popcorn)
Plant single seeds – 4″ apart
“Sophora secoudiflora” (large red seeds)
Desert tree. Wonderful Liliac bloom in springs. Like a party for bees. Bees go nuts for this fragrant purple bloom. Must soak in coke overbite then plant in full sun.
