Meeting Each Child's Needs

Our goal is to foster in each child a love of learning. That's why our staff members are encouraged to develop a special relationship with each child. They are attentive to special interests that may be expressed and aim to be flexible and responsive to your child's needs.

Families from diverse backgrounds enrich our pre-school community. Our staff will welcome your family and share with the class an appreciation of and respect for differences. Come for the education... stay for the community!

Toddler Class

The Toddler Class provides an introductory experience to a social setting. This class is designed to teach your curious little one how to safely, politely, and enthusiastically learn while becoming more aware of themselves and their surroundings This class teaches language, physical and cognitive skills through reading, non-competitive games, and art.

The class is for children who are 12 months - 2 years of age and walking.

Two Year Old Class

The Two Year Old Class provides an introductory preschool experience. In this class, children are learning to be part of a group. They develop listening skills, follow directions, understand simple class rules and show respect for other people and things. Judaic learning and development of physical and cognitive readiness skills are achieved through songs, movement, art and other sensory experiences. To complement the preschool experience, we encourage these children and their families to participate in Shabbat and holiday events at the temple, including Tots 'N Torah.

Three Year Old Class

The Three Year Old Class provides a rich variety of experiences to help children increase their understanding of the relationship of everyday tasks and objects to the greater world around them. Interactive activities - including movement, songs, art, dramatic play and hands-on exploration - help them develop physical and cognitive readiness skills in a playful, fun way. Although Judaica is integrated every day, on Fridays, our special Kabbalat Shabbat experience - with tefillah, songs, stories and cooking - is designed especially to increase their comfort with and love for Jewish tradition. Optional extended care is available. This program provides an opportunity to eat lunch with friends, rest and play.

Pre-K Class

The Pre-Kindergarten Class provides a strong foundation of Jewish learning and prepares children to enter Kindergarten the following school year. A print-rich classroom environment and specific math, language, science and social studies activities help children develop the necessary cognitive readiness skills. Ongoing Jewish activities, including music, stories, Hebrew games, ritual crafts and the Kabbalat Shabbat experience strengthen their love of Judaism. Hands-on learning through dramatic play, movement, art projects and physical exploration is mixed with more structured learning including writing experiences, tefillah and daily circle time activities.

Optional Afternoon Enrichment

An optional afternoon enrichment program is available. This program provides an opportunity to eat lunch with friends, followed by a themed learning activity and play time. Enrichment activities include art, cooking, P.E., yoga, music, and more!
